And it starts with
an "O"
OFFERINGS! Certainly, "giving" of
many
kinds is Godly, and good. BUT, what kind of giving is an actual
command and warning
given to Christians in the Bible?
SUPPORTING PREACHERS!
And here's the proof. A
blessing or a curse.
You get to pick:
Galatians Chapter 6:6-7
"Let him
(that's you) that is
taught in the word communicate
(that means give)
unto him
that teacheth(the preacher)
in all good
things."
What do you suppose
"In All Good Things" are?
Spoiler alert: They're money or valuables so they can continue with the good work.
BUT WAIT THERE'S
MORE!
THE SAME PASSAGE
goes on in verse 7 to
WARN
about
NOT GIVING.
"Be not deceived;
God is not mocked:
for whatsoever a man soweth,
that shall he also reap."
Christians LOVE to use this verse to judge others sin,
BUT, it has NOTHING
to do with sin.
And that's why it's placed here. It's about
financially
supporting the
teachers of the Gospel. (betcha never saw that before right?)
